Hope is a natural expression of our Soul’s Purposes. Dreams are the divine seeds of potential embedded within our Soul. Reality is life as it is—with acceptance and without judgment.

Wishful thinking is something else altogether. Wishful thinking happens when we focus only on what we want, simply because we want it. Hopes and dreams go much deeper.

How do our hopes and dreams relate to reality from an Akashic Perspective?

Hope lives in our hearts as a cherished wish, or a desire that has stayed with us through many seasons of our lives. The very fact that we hope for something is evidence that the seed of that possibility already exists within us.

Hope is not naïve. It is not denial of difficulty. We live in challenging times. Even in turbulence, each one of us still carries a deep desire to bring our best self to life. That desire is hope.

When we feel that exciting, uncomfortable longing for something more loving, more meaningful, that is hope stirring. It is the spark that ignites growth.

Similarly, dreams are indicators of what already lives within us. Dreams are not random wishes, and each person carries a unique packet of dreams. If you gathered 500 people in a room and asked them to share their heartfelt dreams, you would hear 500 different sacred ideas. Even if the dreams seem similar on the surface, each one is personally unique. That uniqueness is not accidental. It is precise.

The desires of our heart reside within us because we are the right person to bring them to life. It is a universal law that the desires of our hearts are given to us because we are the ones who can manifest them.

Some dreams persist throughout our entire life. Even when circumstances are difficult, even when we tuck them away and try to forget them, they remain. This resilient quality is evidence of our Soul’s Purposes at work. Dreams can endure negativity, poor timing, outside influences, finances, health challenges—because they are tied to our destiny.

Hopes and dreams are great fun, and an especially important part of our life journey, but the fulfillment of our Soul’s Purposes lies in courageously applying our hopes and dreams into cold, hard reality. Ouch!

Reality includes global events, personal challenges, collective traumas, and everyday circumstances—all of our human experiences. These experiences mold us and shape our consciousness. They are not punishments, but part of the evolving human story.

One of the most important spiritual truths about reality is this: acceptance is fundamental to change. But how does acceptance fit in with hopes and dreams?

Acceptance does not mean approval. It means recognizing the existing reality and making appropriate adjustments to allow life to be the way it is and the way it is not. If circumstances change, we adjust:

  • If there is a snowstorm, we wear a coat and boots.
  • If our car breaks down, we find another way to get where we need to go.
  • If we become ill, we do what we need to do to feel better.
  • If our income level changes, we change our spending habits.

When we resist reality, we weaken ourselves. When we accept it, we gain strength and clarity. Acceptance stabilizes us so we can act wisely, and sometimes acceptance helps us find a brilliant and creative way to bring our hopes and dreams front and center into our reality.

Reality includes a paradox: we are simultaneously infinite and finite, eternal Soul, and mortal human. The Akashic Records hold this without conflict, and this paradox offers an exciting opportunity to express our hopes and dreams, assess, adjust, and allow life to respond. Manifestation happens within the context of ordinary human life—through relationships, time, and space.

Hopes and dreams are sustained by the truth that life is for us, not against us. We are not separate from life, but an integral part of it. We are not wishing from afar but knowing that our Soul’s Purposes are alive within us—and that, step by step, we are growing into them.

Reality is not our enemy. It is the field in which our Soul’s Purposes are revealed and brought to life. Our reality might not always be the conditions we would prefer, but it will always be the conditions that are perfect for Akashic Manifestation.
