Every morning when we open our eyes, we are experiencing a New Beginning. When the calendar shifts from one year to the next, we appreciate the dramatic imagery of a fresh start and unlimited potential, but we know in our hearts that our real-life experience is an exquisitely complicated blending of our past, our present, and our future.
The past cannot change, the present is sometimes difficult to objectively evaluate, and the future is filled with unknowns.
In the course of living our lives, we make choices based on what we believe will be the best course of action for our own happiness and well-being. For every choice we make, our response is a combination of lessons we’ve learned in the past, our needs in the present, and our hopes for the future.
Then occasionally we are presented with a transformative moment. Perhaps a situation arises that is entirely surprising, and we feel woefully unprepared to even guess what actions we should take. Or maybe we’re feeling overwhelmed by the opportunities that may take our comfortable lives in a whole new direction. We might feel intimidated by the next steps, and we long for the safety of the way things were—when we knew exactly what to do and what to expect.
As we enter 2026, may we all find the courage to entertain transformative moments with new points of view and willingness to experiment with the unknown. Through our work in the Akashic Records, may we all discover new perspectives through which we can observe and evaluate our experiences. May we all be ever more clear in our intent, to support and empower us. May we all seek practical new approaches to inspire our everyday living and engage in the unlimited possibilities for a happy and fulfilled future.
If we grab hold of a perspective that helps us identify the presence of light and love, especially when it is most difficult to find, we will find peace and serenity. We need a comprehensive approach to the unique conundrums of 21st-century life, an approach that makes it easier for us to be authentic and vulnerable, as well as emotionally safe so that we have permission to be honest. And, in that process, we discover new paths of inner awareness empowering our awareness, acceptance, and appropriate action.
Somewhere deep within each of us lives a dimension encoded with our ultimate potential, a sliver of divine consciousness expressing and radiating that infinite love through us into life: our soul. This is the part of us that is divine in nature, a point of light in the universal whole, embodying the whole of universal goodness and life. Our soul links us to all other humans as well as the entirety of creation.
This is the amazing opportunity of our time! We are here to consciously recognize our soul’s purposes and live lives experiencing and expressing them—while we are still mere mortals. I often think how easy it will be, once I am free of this body, to enjoy all the blessings of the soul. But, while I am still human, the challenge is not small. We know that hard work is good work, and expanding our consciousness is the ultimate reward.
We find ourselves at the very beginning of a new year. What an ideal time to view life and all its wonders (past, present, and future) from a consciously spiritual perspective, to examine the innermost reaches of ourselves, to be in a more conscious relationship with the highest dimensions of our being.
